THURSDAY 12th MAY

HEADLINES @ 0900Hrs
Far more cloud than blue sky at present & the ground is wet from overnight showers (1.8mms since 1800Hrs)

PITLOCHRY TODAY
Pressure is low to the North of Scotland, giving a showery westerly airflow. Minor troughs in this airflow tend to accentuate the showers on occasions, but as a general rule, showers are more frequent & heavier over the mountains to our west & less frequent & lighter towards the East Coast.  So today, a similar mix yet again, with occasional cloudy periods with showers, punctuated by clearing skies & spells of pleasant sunshine. http://www.raintoday.co.uk/ is a help to picking out the best of the sunny breaks (it helped me to pick a dry slot in which to mow the lawn, 1830/1930---after which there was a shower!!)

THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
Probably dry by late evening & overnight. Prone spots(eg flat & grassy) could just get a touch of ground frost.

OUTLOOK
A continuing mix of sunny spells & showers, with a more continuous spell of rain later on SUNDAY. Becoming a little cooler by day.
