A pleasant start to the day, though a slight ground frost here earlier on. Watch out for heavy afternoon showers & gardeners, cover up any tender young plants by dusk, especially if you are prone to frosts.
PITLOCHRY TODAY
Much of the morning should remain dry, though cloud will be building, but allowing some sunny intervals. During the afternoon & early evening, there is an increased risk of some showers, which could well be heavy. They will also be slow moving, so some spots could have a large total of rain, while others get little---a good day for checking the radar. Winds today will be lighter & highest temperatures should reach around 14 or15 degrees (still below par for the closing days of May )
THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
Any showers dying out, with a calm, clear night to follow. frost, so A WIDESPREAD GROUND FROST IS LIKELY, WITH EVEN A SLIGHT AIR FROST IN A FEW PRONE SPOTS.
OUTLOOK
The last day of May is likely to be mainly dry (an odd shower possible), with broken cloud & some sunshine.
The new month will herald some drier, warmer weather, once overnight rain has cleared on Wednesday morning. Much higher temperatures seem likely from Thursday onwards.
