A deep depression will be centred off N.W.Scotland by noon, with weather charts looking particularly active for this time of year. It was raining heavily when I got up at 0730, but the rain has eased somewhat. The wind is in an easterly quarter at present & only moderate in strength; the direction & force are set to change as the day progresses.
PITLOCHRY TODAY
Overcast, with continuous moderate rain for a time this morning. This will give way later to more broken cloud with showers around, some of which are likely to be squally. S.W. winds are likely to increase with time, perhaps with gusts to gale force, though probably not as bad as in parts of the Central Belt. It will be cool, at around 13 degrees at best.
THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
Showers & very strong winds throuhout the period, though winds will ease somewhat later in the night. Lowest temperatures around 5 or 6 degrees.
OUTLOOK
TUESDAY will see strong W. winds, with broken cloud & sunshine & a few showers. Remaining cool at 13 degrees, though winds will slowly ease later. Wednesday will have another spell of rain, while THURSDAY is back to sunshine & a few showers. Staying on the cool side.
