WEDNESDAY 16th----EVENING

UPDATE @ 1630Hrs
A dreary day, with fairly persistent rain, this more reluctant to die out during the afternoon than expected. The month's rainfall total nudged up another 3.9mms & the maximum temperature reached a below-average 4.7 degrees. In fact, the thermometer spent the whole day in the narrow range of 4.3 to 4.7.

THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
Most of the rain has passed through, so much of the evening & night will be dry, with light winds & just a few clear intervals. There is likely to be a slight air frost & associated icy patches by morning.

OUTLOOK
THURSDAY is likely to be a dry day, but there is likely to be a good deal of cloud around, with just a little brightness. Maximum temperatures should reach around 4 or 5 degrees. At present, it looks as though SATURDAY will be the most unsettled day of the next 3, as milder Atlantic air meets colder Continental air, posing a forecasting problem with regards to snow. Stay "tuned" to see how things are likely to develop nearer the time.
