UPDATE @ 1630Hrs
A cloudy, dry morning, was followed by an overcast afternoon & there was a little light rain or drizzle at times. All in all, a great contrast to yesterday! Today's highest temperature was 3.5 degrees, below normal for the time of year.
THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
The rain is likely to continue until morning & will become more persistent & heavy at times after dark. Snow will only fall on high ground above about 400m. Temperatures may fall close to zero, but there should not be a widespread air frost.
OUTLOOK
SATURDAY should be the better day of the weekend, although it may start with some cloud & rain. SUNDAY is likely to be more unsettled, with some rain & stronger winds. There may be some snow overnight Sun/Mon & later updates will keep an eye on this risk
