THURSDAY 3rd FEBRUARY----EVENING

UPDATE @ 1630Hrs
After a sparkling start to the day, cloud began to increase from late morning. Some wet snow commenced around 1400, but by 1630, it had mostly turned to rain. The Drumochter Webcam showed difficult road conditions in the lower temperatures at 1500ft. with drier snow still falling. In Pitlochry, today's highest temperature was 2.8, with the 1630 temperature at 1.7.

THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
The rain will continue for much of the evening & will be heavy at times. Winds will become strong to gale force, blowing from the S or SW. Temperatures are likely to creep up a degree or two.  Later on, it will become mainly dry, with some cloud breaks & temperatures falling to near zero. Tomorrow morning's roads & pavements may well be icy & there may even be an odd light snow shower.

OUTLOOK
It may start bright & dry tomorrow, but once again, a good deal of rain is set to spread from the west. Any snow is likely to be on the higher hills & mountains & temperatures should rise to 6 or 7 degrees in Pitlochry. There will be fresh to strong SW winds, with a rapid thaw of any remaining snow, slush or ice.   SATURDAY & SUNDAY should be better days, with more sunshine, only isolated showers, but rather cold.
