UPDATE @ 1730Hrs
February days don't come much better than this one! Blue skies & unbroken sunshine were the order of the day. The maximum temperature rose to 6.5, fractionally above normal. However, things are cooling down quickly now, the 1730 temperature being just 1.2, with the grass minimum a frosty -3.0.
THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
The evening will remain largely clear, with little wind & an air frost readily developing. The minimum temperature could fall to -3 or -4 before midnight. Later in the night, skies are likely to turn rather more cloudy, but it should remain dry.
OUTLOOK
FRIDAY will start dry, partly cloudy & bright. There are likely to be icy patches & valley fog bands. Cloud will tend to thicken during the morning & there may be some occasional , mainly light rain later. As the afternoon wears on, the rain is likely to turn more persistent, lasting into the evening. The WEEKEND is likely to be rather mixed, with some further rain on occasions, but perhaps Saturday afternoon has the best prospects.
