THURSDAY 17th FEBRUARY

HEADLINES @ 0900Hrs
A dismal morning, cheered up by some bird song from the top of a conifer. The temperature is 1.4, with no air frost. At least it is not as misty as it was earlier on.

PITLOCHRY TODAY
A misty start, gradually lifting. Dry until mid-afternoon, when a little rain or drizzle is likely to spread from the SW. Maximum temperatures should reach around 5 degrees.

THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
Mainly cloudy, with occasional mainly light rain. A few dry spells. Minimum temperature around 2 degrees.

OUTLOOK
An unsettled period , as milder Atlantic air struggles to advance eastwards, at the expense of cold continental air.  FRIDAY is likely to be mainly cloudy , with rain at times. SATURDAY is on a knifedge between rain & snow, While SUNDAY is more likely to see further rain at times. Throughout this period, it is likely to be rather cold & windy, though probably somewhat milder by SUNDAY. Sunshine at a premium throughout, with already high rainfall totals continuing to rise.
