THURSDAY 14th APRIL

HEADLINES @ 0900Hrs
Milder than yesterday at this time & Wednesday did turn out the coldest day so far in April. Despite the "bits & pieces" of rain in recent days, I spent an hour & a half with the garden hose yesterday afternoon. The frontal systems crossing at present are very weak & giving very little rainfall east of the mountains. In any case, April is the driest month of the year on average & extra dry April/May periods can prove troublesome for plant growth. Tomorrow, I will report where April statistics stand at the half-way mark in the month.

PITLOCHRY TODAY
The day will be rather cloudy, especially this morning. The afternoon should be somewhat brighter, though an isolated light shower is possible. It will be milder than yesterday, with temperatures peaking at around 13 degrees.

THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
Some clear spells are expected during the evening & first part of the night. Cloud will then increase, with some light & patchy rain around.  Temperature should not fall below 5 degrees, though a touch of ground frost could occur early in the night in prone areas.

OUTLOOK
FRIDAY is likely to see a cloudy, damp start, but it should brighten up later, with highest temperatures around 13 or 14 degrees.THE WEEKEND promises to be dry with some sunshine, after a cloudy, damp start to Saturday.
