UPDATE @ 1730Hrs
The weather was mostly sunny, with quite a strong E to SE wind & very warm for late April. It was, in fact, warmer than an average day in JUNE. The maximum temperature was 19.2 degrees (Leuchars RAF, so close to the North Sea, was only 11.8 at 1600Hrs). There is currently a band of showers across the Edinburgh area.
THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
Apart from a small chance of a shower this evening, there should be further intervals of sunshine & clear periods overnight. It will again be cold, though perhaps a little less so than last night, with ground frost in some places.
OUTLOOK
Dry with some sunshine over the WEEKEND. Winds will remain in the east & daytime temperatures should reach well-above average levels for this time of year, though nights will be chilly. NEXT WEEK should start in similar vein.
