FRIDAY 15th APRIL----EVENING + FACTS & FIGURES FOR THE FIRST HALF OF APRIL

UPDATE @ 1800Hrs
It was rather more sunny this morning than expected & somewhat more cloudy this afternoon. However, it was again mild & rainless. The maximum temperature reached 15.7.

THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
It is likely to be mostly dry throughout the period, with a mixture of clear spells & more cloudy periods. Lowest temperatures are likely to be around 5 degrees.

OUTLOOK
SATURDAY is expected to be dry, with variable amounts of cloud & some sunny spells. It will again be mild, with highest temperatures around 15 degrees.  SUNDAY should be dry with sunny spells & temperatures up to 16 or 17 degrees.

The first half of April has been very mild, with no air frost & no snow. The average maximum temperature is currently 14.8 (3.5 above normal). The average minimum temperature is 5.7 (3 degrees above the long-term average). 8 days have topped at least 15 degrees.

Rainfall is running at only 36% of normal at present, Atlantic rain-belts being particularly weak with very little rain managing to cross the mountains.
