THURSDAY 1st SEPTEMBER----EVENING

HEADLINES @1745Hrs
Several days recently have posed a problem for the forecaster.  Will the cloudy skies break, to give sunny intervals with resulting higher temperatures?   Today, we were proved wrong. It stayed mainly cloudy & as a result, temperatures were pegged at 15 degrees.

THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
A dry, mainly cloudy evening. There is a depression south of Iceland & this will drive its frontal system into Western Scotland by late evening, this affecting our area by the wee small hours, giving a spell of rain. Although quite breezy, it will remain mild at 10 or 11 degrees.

OUTLOOK
FRIDAY---Perhaps a little rain left first thing in the morning, but then becoming mainly dry, with some sunshine, perhaps an odd passing shower.Temperatures should be a degree or so up on today at around 17 or 18 degrees.
THE WEEKEND----Some rain at first on Saturday, clearing to sunshine & perhaps an odd shower. Rather breezy, though temperatures on the warm side.Probably more rain overnight Sat/Sun but sunshine & the odd shower on Sunday.
