FRIDAY 2nd SEPTEMBER

HEADLINES @ 0900Hrs
I see yesterday's papers had warnings of a chilly autumn & another "big freeze" this winter. That may turn out to be the case, but seasonal forecasting is in its infancy & egg still coats the faces of some at the Met Office who, only a couple of years ago, were on about BBQ summers that just didn't happen. A private company, Positive Weather Solutions, also seem hell-bent on gaining recognition in predicting well in advance.  As all forecasters seem to struggle at times with what's likely to happen tomorrow, lets just stick with what we can usually guarantee to get mostly right!

PITLOCHRY TODAY
An overcast start, with a little patchy light rain for the next hour or so. Later on, there should be some lifting & breaking of the cloud to give some sunny intervals. Feeling fairly warm in any sunny intervals, with highest temperature around 17 or 18 degrees.

THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
Clouds will thicken & lower during the evening, with some outbreaks of rain, becoming heavier & more persistent during the night. A mild night, with a low of 12.

OUTLOOK
SATURDAY---A cloudy morning, with some rain or showers at times. Some improvement seems likely during the afternoon, with some breaks in the cloud & some intervals of sunshine. Max. temp. around 16 or 17.
SUNDAY---The better day of the weekend. There should be broken cloud, with some sunny spells, with temperatures up to 16 or 17.   More rain overnight.
