SATURDAY 10th SEPTEMBER----EVENING

HEADLINES @ 1700Hrs
A most unfortunate day weather-wise for the Highland Games.  Rainfall between 0900 & 1700hrs totalled 9.6mms (much of that before 1300hrs). Though rain during the afternoon was less heavy or persistent, it failed to die out completely until after 1500, while cloud breaks failed to appear until an hour or so after that.   By 1700hrs, there were several blue patches to be seen, though the breeze had sprung up somewhat. At least it was warm for the time of year, with the maximum up to 18.1.

THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
The evening & night promise to be mainly dry, with some breaks in the cloud. The lowest temperature is likely to be a very mild 12.

OUTLOOK
SUNDAY----A bright start, but cloud thickening from the south west, followed by spells of rain during the afternoon & evening & probably more rain overnight. It will be windier than today & not as warm, maximum near 15.
MONDAY----Overnight rain may linger into the morning, before broken cloud, sunny intervals & showers take over. It is likely to be VERY WINDY, ex-hurricane Katia having entered the S.W. flow across the Atlantic.
