FRIDAY 9th SEPTEMBER----EVENING

HEADLINES @ 1845Hrs
A very poor day after yesterday, with persistent rain & drizzle this morning & though a drier afternoon, the cloud failed to break. Temperatures are at their highest now (13.1 & rising).  At 1400 Hrs, Pitlochry was on 12.7, places on the Northumberland coast were at a pleasant 20, while Bridlington on the Yorkshire coast was up at 22, getting a dose of tropical air, behind a warm front.

THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
Mostly dry this evening, but generally cloudy. There will be a further spell of rain overnight, with temperatures remaining in double figures.

SATURDAY
There may still be some rain left over from the northward moving warm front first thing in the morning. It should, however, feel very mild & cloud is likely to break at times during the morning to give some sunny intervals. During the afternoon, there may be more cloudy spells with a few showers around. Temperatures should reach a warm 19 in an air mass that has originated much further south.   UPDATE at 0900HRS
