SATURDAY 3rd DECEMBER----EVENING

For longer outlook periods, surface pressure charts, mountain weather & severe weather warnings, go to the Met Office's regional forecasts and click the relevant headings.

HEADLINES @ 1645Hrs
A disappointing day, with the forecast too optimistic about an emphasis on just the odd shower. In reality there were lots of remnant shower areas from several very extensive, heavy snow showers affecting the mountainous areas to the west & north west.   The highest temperature was 4.2 & the rainfall up to 1630Hrs was 4.2mms

THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
A cold & breezy evening, with a mixture of occasional showers & dry, clear intervals. There may be some wet snow in any heavier showers. Lowest overnight temperature around 0 to -1, with a widesread ground frost.

SUNDAY
Remaining cold, though with lighter W.winds. Hopefully not as cloudy or as showery as today, but there is an increased likelihood of seeing some snow in any showers. Becoming dry & frosty overnight.  Max.temp.+3, min temp-3
