NOVEMBER 2011----SUMMARY FOR THE MONTH

NOVEMBER 2011 WAS A VERY MILD & WET MONTH.

MEAN MAX.TEMP. 10.6     (2.3 ABOVE LONG-TERM AVERAGE)
MEAN MIN. TEMP.   4.9       (3.3 ABOVE LONG-TERM AVERAGE)

THERE HAVE BEEN NO MILDER NOVEMBERS IN 35 YEARS OF RECORDS IN THE AREA.

There were 4 slight air frosts & 12 ground frosts during the month, but  19 days reached double figures.

AS LATE AS THE 24th, ONLY 50% OF NORMAL RAIN AMOUNTS HAD FALLEN.    BY THE END OF THE MONTH , THIS FIGURE WAS UP TO 122%, BUT  THE PREVIOUS 2 NOVEMBERS WERE WETTER THAN THIS.

MILDEST DAY 13.8 (26th )    COLDEST NIGHT -2.0 (6th )   WETTEST DAY  21.8mms (26th )

There were 2 days when sleet was seen to fall.    The 7th saw a foggy afternoon, but sunny skies above 300m
