HEADLINES @ 0900Hrs
A cold front passed through in the middle of the night, giving a little rain, but more importantly, introducing a clearer, colder air flow. The peak temperature actually occurred late evening (so becoming yesterday's maximum) & at 0900 the actual temperature of 1.2 was also the minimum overnight. Such features are quite common in winter, but almost unknown in the summer half of the year.

PITLOCHRY TODAY
Dry for much, if not all of the time, with broken cloud & intervals of sunshine. It will feel colder than yesterday, with the maximum temperature held at about 5. Winds will be moderate from the west & visibility will be very good. Any isolated showers are most likely over the hills to the west, where they may fall as snow above about 300ms.

THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
A chilly evening with temperatures falling close to freezing with a widespread ground frost. Later in the night, it may become more cloudy, with temperatures recovering somewhat.

CHRISTMAS EVE---Cloudy, with some rain at times, especially a.m. Perhaps some drier periods p.m.. Breezy from the S.W.Maximum temperatures about 6 or7.
CHRISTMAS DAY---Mild, windy with rain at times. BOXING DAY----Still mild with further rain
