HEADLINES @ 0900Hrs
2.5cms of snow fell yesterday afternoon (more than expected), but none at Perth. Since the snow ceased, the temperature has stayed stubbornly at around zero, under an inversion. (Some places in the region are up to about 7 now)

PITLOCHRY TODAY
Partly cloudy, some drier, brighter intervals, but some showers around & a spell of rain this evening. Temperatures should have risen to around 6 by this evening.

NEW YEAR'S DAY
Some showers around, more especially in the morning. Mainly dry during the afternoon. Winds fresh from the S.W.  Maximum temperature around 5.
