THURSDAY 13th OCTOBER----EVENING

HEADLINES @1700Hrs
The morning began overcast with drizzle, but later it became dry. The afternoon remained cloudy but dry.  On occasions, a cloud band persisted below the summit of Ben Vrackie, leaving the top in the clear.  Days of persistent cloud, despite pressure being high, are said--(in the trade)--to be experiencing "anticyclonic gloom"   Despite all the cloud, it was actually a little milder with a top temperature of 12.0.  Barometers should be reading around 1027 to 1028 mbs.this evening.

THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
Remaining cloudy, though dry for the most part. There could be a few patches of drizzle on occasions, not amounting to much. Lowest temperatures will fall to around 9.

FRIDAY
Staying mainly cloudy, with any brighter intervals reserved for places further east. There are likely to be some patches of light rain or drizzle on occasions, but dry spells too. Highest temperatures reaching 14, mild for the time of year.
