MONDAY 31st OCTOBER----EVENING

For longer outlook periods, surface pressure charts, mountain weather & severe weather warnings, go to the Met Office's regional forecasts and click the relevant headings.

HEADLINES @ 1630Hrs
A cloudy, breezy day, with virtually no sunshine. On the credit side, there's been very little rain & the thermometer has reached a very mild 15.1.    At 1300Hrs, Kinloss on the Moray Firth reached 19, a respectable figure for July (caused by moist S. winds descending from off the Cairngorms )

THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
A band of rain will move across later this evening, clearing later in the night. In the clearer conditions behind the front, temperatures are expected to fall to a low of 6 or 7.

TUESDAY
A rather fresher day, with broken cloud & some sunshine. Maximum temperature around 11 or 12.   A good day for a visit to the East Coast, which should get the lion's share of the sunshine.
