WEDNESDAY 16th MARCH----EVENING

UPDATE @ 1700HRS
It's been a brilliant day, with long periods of sunshine. The satellite pictures showed clear skies over much of Scotland, but were partly covered in white patches; not cloud on this occasion, but lying snow!. Temperatures ended up higher than forecast at 8.4.  I was too low, but BBC Online ( 5 day Pitlochry),  had forecast today's maximum as 2 degrees (I suspect the person responsible must have "inversion phobia"

THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
Cloud is likely to move in from the SE as the evening goes on. It is possible there may be just very small amounts of slight rain or drizzle later in the night. Minimum temperatures close to or slightly below zero.

OUTLOOK
THURSDAY may start rather cloudy, but the day should be dry, with some sunshine developing. Maximum temperatures should reach about 7 degrees.
