Today's showers produced 3.0mms rainfall & the highest temperature reached 7.0 degrees. It was very windy in exposed places & felt somewhat colder than 7 degrees!
THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
Dry, clear spells this evening, will alternate with occasional showers of sleet or snow. There may be a light snow cover by morning, giving some icy stretches on local roads & pavements. Winds will still be fresh on occasions & temperatures will fall close to zero by dawn
OUTLOOK
FRIDAY will be a brighter day, with few if any showers around. After some sunny spells during the morning, the afternoon will gradually cloud over. Highest temperatures will reach 6 degrees. During the evening, there is a risk of a belt of snow spreading into the area & lasting into Saturday morning---Check tomorrow's forecasts for latest updates
THE WEEKEND will probably see some cold, wintry conditions.
