SATURDAY 12th MARCH

HEADLINES @ 0900Hrs
Overcast, with moderate snow & a temperature of +0.4 degrees. Already, over 2cms has fallen. There is snow around Perth, though at 0800, Dundee was at +2 with sleet reported. The M90 had snow on the carriageway to the south of Perth.

PITLOCHRY TODAY
A warm front over S. Scotland is moving slowly northwards into colder air. The day is expected to stay mostly overcast, with long periods of snow. Some of this snow is likely to be moderate to heavy at times. Although on the lowest land, close to the coast, some of the snow will become wet & sleety, Pitlochry is likely to have snow accumulations of at least 10cms & some of the higher, outlying districts may have 15 to 20 cms. Walking in the Grampians is not recommended. The temperature will spend much of the time between zero & +2. Winds will be from the NE, becoming strong in higher, exposed places.

THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
There will be a gradual tendency for the snow to turn wetter & more sleety with time & become lighter & more occasional.

OUTLOOK
SUNDAY should see an improvement, with perhaps some sleet initially, but becoming drier later & a degree or two less cold.
