UPDATE @ 1630Hrs
This morning's optimism proved correct & after a cloudy start, the sun broke through & the day became very pleasant. The highest temperature this afternoon reached 11.5 degrees ( Incidentally, Pitlochry's warmest March over the last 35 years, in 2003, had a mean maximum temperature of 11.4 over the ENTIRE month).
THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
It is expected to cloud up this evening, with some patchy light rain at times during the mid/ late evening. Later in the night, cloud should break somewhat, allowing temperatures to fall close to zero.
OUTLOOK
The WEEKEND is expected to be dry, with a mixture of more cloudy spells & some intervals of sunshine. Day-time temperatures are likely to be around 7 or 8 & some overnight frost is likely.
