THURSDAY 25th AUGUST----EVENING

HEADLINES @ 1815Hrs
One of the better days, as it turned out! There was rather more sunshine than we've been used to & very few showers around. I only noticed a very slight shower mid-afternoon. The maximum temperature reached 17.1--still below the long-term average.

THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
A lot of dry weather about, with some more evening sunshine, but there is still the risk of an odd shower during the evening. Overnight, it should become dry with some clear spells. It will be a cool night, with temperatures down to about 7 degrees.

OUTLOOK
FRIDAY----Any mist & fog bands should clear quickly with some dry weather & sunny intervals during the morning. The afternoon will see shower cloud bubbling up with a risk of a few sharp showers around the area. Temperatures peaking at around 16 or 17.
WEEKEND----Unsettled, with an area of low pressure centred over the North Sea, resulting in mostly cloudy, cool & windy weather. Many places will have some spells of rain or showers, the greatest rainfall totals occurring on & near the East Coast. Perhaps some dry periods further to the west of the region.
