MONDAY 22nd AUGUST

HEADLINES @ 0845Hrs
How difficult it's proving  this month, to get a day with "wall to wall" sunshine!  Of course, the high ground surrounding us has a tendency to develop more cloud than, say, Perth, Dundee & St Andrews.  Often there appears more brightness in the sky towards the S.E. & sunshine & temperature amounts turn out higher in that direction.   Yesterday was a case in point, with Leuchars having a max. temp. of 20.8 & 6.8 hrs sunshine---figures we significantly failed to match here in Pitlochry. Of course, things would be rather different if winds were blowing in from the North Sea.

PITLOCHRY TODAY
Rather cloudy at times today, but the cloud generally broken, with some bright or sunny intervals. Dry for much of the time, but a risk of one or two light showers p.m. Highest temperature around 19 degrees.

THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
Possibly the odd light shower left over at first, but later becoming dry with some sunshine at times. Some clear spells after dark, with the odd valley mist patch & lows of about 7 degrees.

OUTLOOK
TUESDAY----Partly cloudy, but with some sunny intervals. One or two showers may affect the area, moving in from the SE.    Possibly a degree down on Monday's temperatures, with a breeze off the North Sea.
WEDNESDAY----Once again a sunny intervals & scattered showers theme, with broken cloud. Any showers, however, could be somewhat heavier than on recent days. Perhaps a touch cooler.
