MONDAY 15th AUGUST

HEADLINES @ 1730Hrs
Today saw more of the "sunshine & showers" theme. A couple of this afternoon's showers were quite "beefy"--at least briefly.  In the unreliable sunny breaks, the temperature struggled to 17.4, once again a little below normal.
Please note, there is a posting below about Orkney + photograph

THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
Remaining showers should die out during the evening & it should be dry with broken cloud for a time. Later in the night, a new frontal system will bring thicker cloud & a little rain at times, though not amounting to very much. It will be milder than last night.

OUTLOOK
TUESDAY----Cloudy, with a little light & patchy rain through the morning. During the afternoon, a spell of heavier rain is expected. Highest temperatures will be a couple of degrees down on todays.
WEDNESDAY----Is expected to see a better day, with broken cloud & some sunny spells, temperatures up a touch, though with still just the chance of an odd shower.
