THURSDAY 11th AUGUST

HEADLINES @ 1800Hrs
After a few spits first thing this morning, it has since been dry, though cloudy & cool, with maximum temperature only 13.5 degrees.   The troublesome front, which gave us the 37mms, has now moved south & is annoying Newcastle & Sunderland.

THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
Mainly cloudy & dry, though there may just be a little bit of light rain overnight. Lowest temperatures in double figures.

OUTLOOK
FRIDAY----The day should start dry, but cloudy.  Later, some rain will spread from the SW, possibly becoming a little heavier & more persistent by late afternoon. A degree or two warmer.

WEEKEND----Some improvement expected, with a fair amount of dry weather, but perhaps the odd shower about. Becoming warmer than of late, with temperatures approaching the seasonal norm.
