WEDNESDAY 5th JANUARY

HEADLINES @ 0900Hrs----The last shower of the evening turned to snow (not totally unexpected, but not highlighted ). The shower didn't amount to much,but had a high water content, then froze, so attempting to use a plough or brush on paths this morning, is a waste of time! I notice that there is some fog in the valley. The overnight min. temp. was -1.0 & the current temperature- 0.5.Although we now have snow sitting on the trees & shrubs again, the depth lying generally remains at around 2cms.

PITLOCHRY TODAY----Rather cloudy today, with generally light snow moving from west to east but turning sleety with time. Accumulations likely to be small. Becoming drier later. Maximum temperatures reaching around 3 degrees

THIS EVENING & TONIGHT----A mainly dry, clear, frosty night, but there may just be an odd snow shower around the area. Minimum temperatures in the range -3 to -5.

OUTLOOK----A wintry few days ahead. Cold days, frosty nights & also the chance of the odd snow shower & even a longer spell of snow(most likely on Saturday).
