FRIDAY 7th JANUARY

HEADLINES @ 0900Hrs
Very frosty & icy, with a minimum of -9.2( nowhere in U.K. lower than -10). Current temperature -9.0 & that's likely to end up as tomorrow morning's lowest temperature due to 24Hr observations. A lovely morning in other respects!

PILOCHRY TODAY
A day similar to yesterday. Following a very frosty start, there should be largely clear skies with plenty of sunshine. Late in the day, there is likely to be an increase in cloud from the south. Temperatures will slowly struggle up from severe frost levels to around zero at best.

THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
An interesting period to come, but a forecasting nightmare! Later this evening & overnight, a band of snow will move into the area from the south. It would appear that Pitlochry may be close to its western edge, which would suggest that falls will probably be fairly light. (More up-to-date details early evening)

OUTLOOK
Remaining cold initially, but some milder & unsettled conditions on their way by mid-week.
