SUNDAY 2nd JANUARY---EVENING UPDATE

UPDATE @ 1700Hrs----Rather like yesterday, both cloud amounts & temperature proved disappointing. Fortunately, the persistent cloud sheet had a base of at least 1000m so things were not in the mist & murk category. The highest temperature of the day was a mere 1.7, with the current value at 0.4.

THIS EVENING & TONIGHT----Dry & rather cloudy, with just a few breaks likely. The minimum temperature will be very much dependent on the length of the clear spells, within a range of -1 to -4.

OUTLOOK FOR MONDAY----A dry start, perhaps with some brightness. Cloud will increase during the afternoon, perhaps bringing some snow for a time initially, but later, turning increasingly to rain. The highest temperatures will be later in the day, after any snow, but for much of the day, will hover around 1 or 2 degrees.
