UPDATE @ 1700Hrs Rather cloudy with a rain shower this morning. Overcast & miserable this afternoon. but a slow thaw taking place. Highest temperature +2.5, current temperature +1.4.

THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
An area of precipitation will approach from the SW during the evening. There is likely to be heavy snowfall over land above about 300m, especially the Grampians & Cairngorms. Pitlochry may have some wet snow or sleet for a time, though this is likely to turn to rain.There could be a short spell of snow later in the night, as colder air returns temporarily, allowing temperatures to fall to frost levels, with icy conditions by morning. Minimum temperature -1 to -3.

OULOOK
Much of Tuesday should be dry, but from mid-week, it will be unsettled but less cold with a thaw of lying snow & ice.
