HEADLINES @ 0800Hr
A very deep low close to NW Scotland, bringing very severe conditions to that region, particularly out at sea.   We are all close to seeing the end of the lengthy mild spell that has dominated November, strangely enough just at the same time as snow & severe cold set in 12 months ago. But there, I think the similarity ends, with the outlook promising only colder weather than we have got used to, a few slight frosts, but any snow confined to the higher ground.

PITLOCHRY TODAY
Generally rather cloudy, but any early rain will quickly die out. During the day, it will become mild but windy, temperatures up to 11, with winds from the south. There should be a good deal of dry weather during daylight hours.

THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
Rain will spread from the N.W. during the evening, as a cold front moves SE-wards.  Winds will be strong from the west. The rain should die out after midnight & temperatures will fall to about 3 by morning.

FRIDAY
Feeling much colder, with temperatures struggling to only 5 & with a strong W. wind into the bargain. It will however be dry for much of the time with excellent visibility.  There may be a few showers around in the morning, but increasing amounts of sunshine during the afternoon.  A touch of frost is likely overnight.
