HEADLINES @ 1700Hrs
Things rather went pear-shaped today, as the early mist failed to clear, only to thicken up into fog this afternoon. The maximum temperature only rose to 4.7    I had a wee run in the car this afternoon, up the Blairgowrie Road.  About a mile after Kinnaird, I ran into brilliant sunshine & lovely blue skies. Below me, the Tummel Valley, including Pitlochry, was in a sea of brilliant white cloud--the top of the fog. All the mountain tops stood out sparkling clear.   It was frustrating to have to head back down into the fog.    PHOTOS WILL BE SHOWN of TODAY'S "WONDERWORLD"

THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
A cold & foggy start for those in the valley. The lowest temperatures will occur this evening. Later on, cloud will spread up from the S.E. which should lift temperatures & replace the fog with low-level cloud, covering the hills.

TUESDAY
Overcast, with low cloud & a few patches of light rain or drizzle. No frost & a milder day ahead, with maximum approaching 10.
