HEADLINES @ 1700Hrs
It was an overcast day with a stiff SE breeze. There were patches of slight rain & drizzle, though not amounting to much.  The maximum temperature reached 9.7, a touch above the long-term average, though hardly feeling so in places exposed to the wind.

THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
Rain will tend to become rather more persistent & heavier for a time this evening, before it becomes dry with some cloud breaks overnight. The minimum temperature should hold up around 8 or 9, with the breeze easing somewhat with time.

WEEKEND
SATURDAY---Any early cloud or showers should clear to give a dry day with well-broken cloud & some sunshine. Highest temperatures should reach an above-normal 12.
SUNDAY---Probably a rather cloudy start, but there are prospects of some cloud breaks during the afternoon, with some intervals of sunshine. Maximum temperatures reaching an above-average 12.
