For longer outlook periods, surface pressure charts, mountain weather & severe weather warnings, go to the Met Office's regional forecasts and click the relevant headings.

HEADLINES @1600Hrs
Most places were sunny by 1030Hrs, but not all. Parts of the Tay valley kept mist or fog patches all day & must have stayed close to zero.    MIST=visibility 1000m but less than 10Km.    FOG= visibility less than 1000m in ALL directions & at least 2m deep above the ground.
PITLOCHRY(140m) at 1600Hrs----Today's max. 5.2,  temp at 1600 +3.0, ground temp. at 1600Hrs -0.5.

THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
Some cirrus cloud patches around at present, but basically much as last night--very light winds or calm & long clear spells. This points to more frost & mist/fog. Minimum temperatures down to -3 or -4, with most places having a slight or moderate air frost + widespread moderate or severe ground frost.

MONDAY
A very cold & misty/foggy start. Many places seeing the sun by mid-morning, but valley bottoms & other spots affected by persistent mist/ fog could stay very cold & sunless all day. Where mist clears by mid-morning, temperatures should rise to 5 or 6.  (Some coastal areas could see 8 or 9, foggy valley bottoms only 0 )
