A WARM WELCOME TO PITLOCHRY WEATHER!
THE ONLY ONLINE WEATHER SERVICE WHERE THE OBSERVER LIVES & RECORDS IN PITLOCHRY, USING PREVIOUS MET OFFICE CLIMATE STATION EXPERIENCE. FORECASTING IS BASED ON MET OFFICE & BBC MATERIAL, WHICH IS THEN TAILORED FOR THE PITLOCHRY AREA, USING LOCAL KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE.    Our area remains on the polar- air- mass side of the jet stream for some days yet, so below average temperatures will continue.  In general terms, we will be in a broken cloud & a few showers regime, most of the showers having failed to make it through to our area from the west. Occasionally, however, lines of showers on "trough lines" may bring  more noticeable spells of showers. Winds will be mainly from the SW (force 3 or 4) with day time temperatures reaching 5 to 7, overnight falling to -1 to +2.

TODAY'S FORECAST FOR PITLOCHRY
Apart from early mist patches in the valley & low cloud on the highest hills, much of the day should be dry with broken cloud & sunny intervals. There is just the chance of a passing light shower. Not the temperature inversion we had yesterday, with more breeze to stir things up, but still feeling rather cold at 5 or 6. Tonight should be mainly dry with clear spells & minimum temperature close to frost levels.
