LOCAL AREA OUTLOOK----SUN. 8th to WED. 11th JULY
The period will remain unsettled, as low pressure transfers from SW England to Scandinavia. The weather will be mostly rather cloudy & cool with winds from the N.or NW, occasionally fresh in strength.. Sunshine will tend to be in short supply, with spells of showery weather around. Temperatures are unlikely to exceed 16 degrees, though nights should not fall below 7. The further outlook holds no promise of any warm, dry, sunny conditions, though rainfall amounts are not expected to be excessive.
At 0800 this morning, a belt of rain across Central Scotland had its N. limit just north of Perth & its S. limit around East Lothian. The rain is likely to reach Pitlochry between 10 & 11am, light at first, but then becoming moderate for most of the afternoon, before becoming light & patchy during the evening & mostly dying out overnight. It will be cooler than the past few days with a maximum of 16 degrees. The minimum overnight will be 10. Winds light to moderate N. to NW.
