Not looking too promising to start off August!  The overcast conditions at the Olympics today can be attributed to the warm front affecting southern parts. Up here, however, within a ridge of high pressure, it is set to be our best day of the week, so enjoy the sunshine. I'm planning on mowing the lawns, but at present they're soaking wet from a heavy dew following the 2nd coldest night in July.                                     Wednesday is lined up to be our worst day of the week, as the frontal systems producing the cloud & rain move north, affecting us from later this evening & for much of Wednesday, giving overcast conditions with rain at times.
As for the rest of the week, the low seen on the chart is set to amble close by, encouraging showers, some heavy, to develop. As always in showery weather, some spots will receive much heavier rainfall amounts than others not too far away & in any event, there'll be some dry spells with sunny intervals around too.
Apart from today, temperatures are likely to fall a couple of degrees short of normal early August values.
Sorry to say, no hot, sunny, settled spells on the horizon just at present!
