LOCAL AREA FORECAST----TUESDAY to FRIDAY
Pressure is low over Iceland & high to the SE, giving hot & sunny weather over much of England. By Friday, pressure will be low over France, raising the prospect of less settled conditions for the start of the Olympics. Locally, prospects seem favourable between Tuesday & Thursday, with mainly dry weather, though rather cloudy at times, Wednesday likely to be the day with most sunshine. With fairly light winds, it should feel warm in the sunny breaks, with temperatures near 20 by day. Friday threatens to be more unsettled, with some rain & lower temperatures expected.
Monday is expected to be cloudy, rather warm & humid, with light rain on occasions--not amounting to much. Skies should begin to clear later in the afternoon, as the rain moves off further south. Winds should become lighter than yesterday, blowing from the SW at around force 3 or 4. Tonight should be dry with clear spells, with lowest temperatures in double figures.
