Last night's active front not only brought rain & strong winds, but introduced colder air & as I write, it is snowing. There may be a few drier slots, with some sunny intervals, but it is likely to be cloudy overall, with showers of sleet or snow. Very little snow is expected to lie at town altitudes, but the situation is likely to be more problematic above 250 to 300ms. Winds have abated & will be mostly force 3 or 4 from the SW with top temperatures struggling to reach 4. Any showers tonight are likely to be of snow & give a light covering & together with a frost, will give a slippery start to Friday morning.
FURTHER OUTLOOK
FRIDAY---A cold start, possibly with a little snow lying & perhaps an odd snow flurry. The day is expected to be cloudy for the most part, with spells of rain during the afternoon & evening, when winds & temperature will tend to increase.
SATURDAY---A much better day. There should be some decent spells of dry weather, with some sunny intervals & just the odd shower. Perhaps a touch of ground frost overnight.
Still a fresh S wind, though temperatures during the day should approach 6 degrees.
SONDAY---Colder again, with a few showers, perhaps of snow p.m. Frost overnight.
