FORECASTING IS BASED ON MET OFFICE & BBC MATERIAL, WHICH IS THEN TAILORED FOR THE PITLOCHRY AREA, USING LOCAL KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE. A very disturbed spell of weather threatens & it will also become very cold by Friday. WEDNESDAY should be mostly dry, with broken cloud & sunny intervals. Despite this, it will be a colder day for the most part (up to 4). Winds will need watching; after a fresh breeze for most of daylight hours, some increase is expected later in the evening, with gusts up to gale force 8 overnight (from the W). THURSDAY starts with SEVERE GALES (from the W.) & GUSTS ARE PREDICTED TO APPROACH 60mph on occasions during the morning. During the afternoon, winds will veer to the NW & decrease a little. The day will start mild, but temperatures will fall to -3 or so by dawn on Friday. FRIDAY is expected to be very cold, with temperatures struggling to reach freezing point, though it will be mainly dry with some sunshine at times, though just the chance of a snow shower. (THAT'S MORE THAN ENOUGH FOR NOW!! )
