A WARM WELCOME TO PITLOCHRY WEATHER!
THE ONLY ONLINE WEATHER SERVICE WHERE THE OBSERVER LIVES & RECORDS IN PITLOCHRY, USING PREVIOUS MET OFFICE CLIMATE STATION EXPERIENCE. FORECASTING IS BASED ON MET OFFICE & BBC MATERIAL, WHICH IS THEN TAILORED FOR THE PITLOCHRY AREA, USING LOCAL KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE.
AKUREYKI is known as the "Capital & Jewel of the North" & is at the head of the longest & narrowest fjord in this region..It is 272 miles NE of Reykjavik, a 50 minute flight or 6 hour bus journey away (No railways in Iceland)..The town is just under 60 miles from the Arctic Circle, so plenty of summer daylight, but  lots of winter darkness. It can be surprisingly warm in summer despite the latitude, especially inland, away from the chilly waters.
