LOCAL AREA OUTLOOK---THURSDAY to SUNDAY
Low pressure will move across the country from the SW, but by the weekend, a ridge of high pressure should be dominating the weather.
THURSDAY is expected to be rather cloudy & showery, but a little milder, though with winds still in an E. quarter FRIDAY looks likely to be better than predicted earlier, with any rainfall in the form of occasional showers. THE WEEKEND is currently looking promising, under the influence of high pressure, so mostly dry with some sunshine around. Temperatures near normal by day, but milder than of late overnight.
The morning will start dry & frosty, but with cloud spreading across at high & medium levels. By late morning, the cloud should have lowered & thickened giving rain for a few hours.(Further snowfall on high ground) Drier conditions, with some cloud breaks should follow before evening. It will feel cold again, with winds settling into the E. or NE & maximum temperatures struggling to get out of single figures. TONIGHT may see a few showers, but there should also be some clear spells. Minimum temperatures are below freezing now, but should not fall as low over the night to come.
