MONDAY 11th JULY----EVENING

UPDATE @ 1740Hr
Many places in Britain have had a completely dry day & few of those who have had a shower could have received as much as 22.3mms. But that was Pitlochry's total from just 2 showers today, the one around 1030 to 1130 being particularly heavy at this site. The problem with both showers was that both intensified on their final approach & both moved extremely slowly. It was fascinating watching their progress on the rainfall radar map.
The area to the south & south-east of us is now under threat for a time this evening.
In hindsight, a rather over-optimistic forecast this morning, but at least things will improve over the next few days. Remember, places as near as Aberfeldy have had much more rain over the past few days---our luck ran out today!!
The maximum temperature was only 15.4 degrees.

THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
The shower risk should diminish, within the next couple of hours, with some cloud breaks overnight.

OUTLOOK
Generally things on the up for a few days, though still some risk of an odd shower tomorrow. WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY should be dry.
