YESTERDAY in PITLOCHRY
The morning was crisp & sparkling, with a lingering frost. There was a little more high cloud around in the afternoon, but it remained bright. With largely clear skies, no wind & an already cold airstream, temperatures fell sharply overnight, giving the lowest values of the winter to date.

THE GENERAL SITUATION
Pressure is high to the east, but this is gradually sinking into the Continent. Atlantic fronts are approaching & will affect NW Scotland first of all.

PITLOCHRY TODAY
A clear & very cold start. Probably more in the way of high cloud around later, but further sunny intervals. Temperatures slow to rise & may be held close to zero. Very light winds.
TONIGHT will see temperatures falling quickly at first, but perhaps rising again later as cloud increases from the W.

TUESDAY
There is likely to be more cloud generally, though remaining dry until after dark, when there will also be some increase in wind. Maximum temperatures should be a few degrees up on today's.
