CIRRUS CLOUDS are high (16,500 to 35,000ft) white &arranged in hooks, filaments, tufts &narrow bands, sometimes rather like aircraft trails.There may be a halo round them & the sun or moon may appear hazy. These clouds may feature within fine settled spells, but if the amount increases, especially from the S.W. they may herald the approach of a warm front.
