Whenever there is a snowfall, one of a number of positive features that we can all benefit from, is seeing the world in a new light, as freshly fallen, powdery white snow covers everything,  remaining there as long as temperatures stay below freezing. Trees as much as anything look particularly beautiful.

For much of this morning, temperatures remained in negative territory, as an inversion affected the valley. This later eased its grip & at noon, the thermometer was reading +1.2, so we are now into a very slight thaw, likely to cease by the onset of darkness.

It is expected to remain cold in the coming week, with some sharp overnight frosts. There is only likely to be  further snow in the form of showers that get through to us on the N. winds setting in  from Wednesday, when areas further to the N & E become much more vulnerable.
