Following a very frosty night, with temperatures down to -9.2 (air) &-13.9 ( ground)
a belt of mainly light snow is expected to affect the area for part of the morning, with 1 or 2cms accumulating, more so on the higher parts on the edge of town. Temperatures have risen a good deal in the last couple of hours & it it is likely that the snow will become sleety, even turning to rain before finally dying out. On higher ground, snow will last longer, with greater accumulations. The afternoon should be mostly dry. apart from the chance of a shower. TONIGHT will see some clear spells & a frost.
